Jhalanath Khanal Calls for Stronger Women's Struggles to End Injustice

Kathmandu – Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has emphasized the need to further strengthen women's struggles and movements to eliminate injustice in society.

In his message on the occasion of the 115th International Women's Day, Khanal stated that sustained and effective efforts are crucial to ending violence against women and establishing a gender-equal society. He extended his best wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness to all women on this significant day.

Highlighting the historical importance of International Women's Day, Khanal remarked that the struggles for women's economic, political, and social rights have led to transformative changes both in Nepal and globally. He acknowledged the progress made, particularly in ensuring 33% representation of women in the federal parliament and around 40% participation at the local level.

"This remarkable political achievement is the result of women's relentless struggles. True socialism can only be realized when men and women enjoy equal rights and opportunities," he asserted.
