Lamjung, May 4: President Ramchandra Paudel today inaugurated the Rastrakavi Madhav Ghimire Park at Pustun Bahundanda in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6, Lamjung.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, the President also unveiled a statue of the revered poet and literary icon, Madhav Ghimire, at his birthplace.

During his visit, President Paudel interacted with local residents and community members. According to Loknath Ghimire, Chairperson of the Rastrakavi Madhav Ghimire Foundation and Park Construction Consumer Committee, the park and statue were built with financial support from multiple sources: Rs 2 million from the Gandaki Province Ministry of Tourism, Rs 400,000 from the Ministry of Social Development, and Rs 300,000 from the local government.

Madhav Prasad Ghimire, a towering figure in Nepali literature, was born on Asoj 7, 1976 BS, and passed away on Bhadra 2, 2077 BS (August 18, 2020), at the age of 101.
