UAE Evacuates Critically Wounded Palestinians for Medical Treatment

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), has successfully evacuated 86 critically injured patients from Gaza, including children and cancer patients in urgent need of advanced treatment.

Accompanied by 124 family members, they were transported to Abu Dhabi via Israel’s Ramon Airport and the Kerem Shalom crossing, where they will receive essential medical care.

This marks the UAE's 22nd evacuation flight in support of Palestinian civilians. Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to providing comprehensive humanitarian support to the Palestinian people amid the crisis in Gaza.

“Our cooperation with WHO and international partners remains strong,” he stated, “as we lead efforts to provide critical healthcare to wounded Palestinians.”

The evacuation aligns with an initiative by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to treat 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients in UAE hospitals. So far, the UAE has evacuated 2,127 Palestinian patients and companions, and its field hospital in Gaza, launched in December 2023, has treated over 50,000 cases.

Additionally, a floating hospital anchored at Al-Arish Port has provided care to over 6,400 patients since February 2024.

The UAE has further supported Palestinians with 43,000 tones of emergency supplies, including food and medical aid, emphasizing its dedication to humanitarian relief for those in need.
