Trump Weighs U.S. Role in Israeli Strikes on Iran

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he is still contemplating whether the United States will support Israel in carrying out air‑strikes against Iran, even as he claimed Tehran has reached out to discuss negotiations.

Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn while watching the installation of a new White House flagpole, Trump declared that his patience with Iran “has already run out” and renewed his demand for the Islamic Republic’s “unconditional surrender.”

“I may do it, I may not do it nobody knows what I’m going to do,” he said when asked if he had authorized U.S. military action. “Iran’s in a lot of trouble, and they want to negotiate.”

According to Trump, Iranian officials have suggested sending a delegation to the White House to discuss the country’s nuclear program and to help halt Israel’s aerial campaign. Still, he warned it might be “very late” for talks to begin.

“They’ve said they’ll come to the White House  that’s courageous, but not easy for them,” he noted. “We might meet. There’s a big difference between now and a week ago.”

Pressed about his social‑media demand for Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER,” Trump said the phrase reflected his dwindling patience.

“It’s very simple: unconditional surrender means I’ve had it,” he said. “No more. We’ll go in and blow up all their nuclear sites scattered around.”

Comparing Iranian leaders to “schoolyard bullies,” Trump added, “They’re not bullies anymore — but we’ll see what happens.”
