Vice President Yadav Highlights Cultural Significance of Festivals

Kathmandu, Dec 30: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav emphasized the importance of festivals like Tamu Lhosar in preserving and promoting cultural values.
In a heartfelt message on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar, a vibrant celebration observed by the Gurung community in Nepal, Vice President Yadav highlighted the indigenous traditions of worshiping deities, community gatherings, and the exchange of greetings. These practices, he noted, are vital for fostering unity and preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Tamu people.
"The festival is not only a celebration but also a means of spiritual awakening and religious harmony, strengthening our cultural fabric," said Vice President Yadav.
He also extended warm wishes for Tolh Lhosar, which will be celebrated the following day in mountainous districts such as Humla, Dolpa, Mugu, Manang, and Jumla. Tolh Lhosar marks the beginning of a New Year for many communities in these regions.
"Festivals are living reflections of our indigenous customs and traditions. They celebrate Nepal's cultural diversity and serve as a bridge to connect these traditions with tourism opportunities," he added.
Vice President Yadav’s message underscores the role of festivals in enriching Nepal's cultural identity and their potential to promote unity and economic growth through tourism.
