Pakistan’s Raw Food Exports Rise by 13.83%

Pakistan's raw food exports saw a 13.83% increase during the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25 (July 2024 to June 2025), according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The PBS report, published Monday, revealed that export revenues rose to $3.96 billion, up from $3.48 billion in the same period last year, with rice emerging as a key driver of this growth.
Rice exports recorded a 14.5% year-on-year increase in value, reaching $1.87 billion, with total shipments amounting to 3.5 million tonnes.
The expansion of export markets, including Bangladesh, along with steady demand from the European Union and the UK, played a crucial role in boosting sales, the PBS noted.
Sugar exports saw a remarkable surge, climbing to 632,804 tonnes during July-December 2024, compared to just 33,101 tonnes in the same period the previous year.
Vegetable exports, including onions, rose by 1.71%, while fish and fish product exports posted a modest 1.47% growth, the report further highlighted.
