Why is the NEPSE Declining? What’s the Market Outlook for Tomorrow?
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shown a double-digit decline on the first day of this week's trading. Today, the NEPSE index dropped by 13.03 points, closing at 2,667.40 points.
A total of 1,52,70,197 shares of 322 companies were traded in 76,418 transactions, amounting to a turnover of NPR 7.72 billion. The investment group saw a slight increase of 0.08%, while the production and processing sector rose by 0.68%.
However, all other sectors experienced a decline, with the development bank sector witnessing the biggest drop of 1.63%.
The banking, insurance, and hydropower sectors all saw declines in share prices. In contrast, Three Star Hydropower saw the highest increase, with its shares rising by 9.91%.
Despite the overall decrease in the index, trading activity continued, with Janaki Finance leading the turnover with shares worth NPR 60.87 million. Similarly, NRN Infrastructure and Dadi Group Power saw significant trading volumes.
Looking ahead, the market remains uncertain as most sectors have experienced a downward trend, and it will depend on market sentiment in the coming days.
