PM Oli Meets Brazilian Football Legend Roberto Carlos in Kathmandu

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met with renowned Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
Carlos, one of the most celebrated left-backs in football history, is currently in Nepal as a special guest for the third season of the Nepal Super League (NSL), which is underway at Dashrath Stadium.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli extended a warm welcome to Carlos, stating that his presence in Nepal serves as an inspiration for Nepali players and youth. Highlighting the longstanding diplomatic ties between Nepal and Brazil, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange in the field of sports. He also invited the football star to return to Nepal in the future to experience the country’s iconic mountain flights and jungle safaris.
Expressing his appreciation for the hospitality he received, Carlos said he was delighted to meet with the Prime Minister, as well as engage with Nepali youth and athletes.
Carlos made his international debut for Brazil in 1992 and went on to earn more than 120 caps. He played a pivotal role in Brazil's victorious 2002 FIFA World Cup campaign in South Korea and Japan. At club level, he is best known for his illustrious career with Spanish giants Real Madrid, where he played from 1996 to 2007, winning four La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies.
